Philodendron Melanochrysum truly stands out even among the stunning Philodendron family. Often called the Black Gold Philodendron, her leaves feature beautiful gold accents that make her exceptionally striking. Her foliage starts as a fleshy pink and darkens to nearly black as it matures, growing larger as the plant climbs—giving you more to admire! As a natural climber, she will thrive with a moss pole or similar support. This exotic and elegant plant is sure to be the centerpiece of any collection.

Although she’s tempting for beginners, we recommend starting with a different plant if you’re new to plant care. Keep in mind that each Philodendron Melanochrysum is unique, so leaf size may vary from images.

Care:

This velvety beauty prefers her soil to be slightly moist at all times. Check the soil with your finger and water when the top layer begins to feel dry. A humidity level around 60% is ideal and also helps maintain soil moisture.

She thrives in bright, indirect light. Other light conditions are acceptable, but not optimal. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent burning her remarkable foliage, and consider a grow light if your space is on the darker side.

As a climber, she will benefit greatly from a moss pole or similar support. Not only does this make her happier, but it also encourages faster growth and larger leaves!
