The Alocasia reginula Black Velvet, also called the Jewel Alocasia, is a graceful dwarf Alocasia famous for her dark, velvety leaves. Her thick foliage ranges from deep green to nearly black, beautifully highlighted with bright white veins that appear to glow. Officially named Alocasia Reginula, meaning ‘little queen,’ she stays compact compared to most Alocasias, earning nicknames like ‘Dwarf Black Queen’ or ‘Queen Alocasia.’

Care:

Originating from the tropical jungles of Malaysia and Borneo, the Black Velvet thrives in bright, indirect light, similar to the shaded conditions beneath larger plants in her natural habitat. Avoid direct sunlight, which can curl her delicate leaves. Water sparingly several times a week, taking care not to overwater—this little queen has low tolerance for soggy soil and prefers well-draining conditions.
