Indoor Plants Conditions
Why Plants Struggle?
-
Outdoor heat is extreme → indoor only in summer
-
Indoor AC drops humidity and can cause leaf edge crisping
-
Low humidity + poor soil = pests + root stress
Target Environment (Numbers That Work)
Temperature: 20–26°C
Humidity: 45–65% (ideal for most aroids)
Airflow: gentle, constant (not AC blasting directly)
If you want to be extra pro, aim for:
-
VPD around 0.8–1.2 kPa for aroids (stable growth zone)
Lighting (Real Settings)
Forget “bright light.” Use measurable targets:
Aroids (Monstera/Philodendron/Anthurium foliage types)
-
PPFD: 100–250 for steady growth
-
Variegated plants: 150–300 (watch burning)
Seedlings / TC acclimation
-
PPFD: 50–120 (start low, ramp over 2–3 weeks)
Photoperiod: 10–12 hours/day
(Too long can stress plants and bleach variegation.)
Humidity Setup (Without Making Mold)
-
Humidifier + hygrometer (must)
-
Keep airflow on to prevent fungus
-
Don’t let leaves stay wet overnight
Rule: If humidity > 70%, airflow must increase.
Airflow & Fans (Underrated)
Use:
-
Small oscillating fan on low
-
Keeps pests down and strengthens stems
-
Prevents fungal issues in moss poles
Avoid:
-
Direct AC vent hitting leaves
Substrate & Pots (Most Failures Come From This)
-
Use chunky aroid mix
-
Always drainage holes
-
Decorative pot = nursery pot inside (never plant directly)
Quarantine Station (Stops Disaster)
Every new plant:
-
Isolate 14 days
-
Inspect with flashlight + magnifier
-
Sticky traps nearby
-
Prevents thrips spreading to your entire inventory
